You shouldn't need an incentive to head to Theobalds Lane and watch Cheshunt take on Northwood on Saturday- after all, the Ambers are in fourth place in the Bostik South Central Division, have only one defeat in their last ten matches, and are pushing for the highest possible position as they look forward to the Playoffs. And yet, they've given you an incentive anyway, designating the match as 'Bostik League Day' and announcing that visitors can pay what they want, with a minimum spend of only one pound.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging more people to see the Ambers in action and to raise money for the League’s chosen charity Save the Children.
Ambers Chairman Dean Williamson said: “We are delighted to offer another Pay What You Want game. Our last one against Tooting & Mitcham was a huge success and we hope for as many people as possible to experience the passion and excitement of non-league football, with the aim of attracting new fans to Cheshunt FC.
Non-League football is just as much fun as the professional game. It is after all the same game, just a fraction of the price and with a lot more connection to the players, managers and directors.
Some come along to our game on Saturday and you’ll see exactly what we mean. You’ll experience a fun, friendly, family atmosphere, and be welcomed by people who run our club for the love of the game.
