Sussex football runners approach fifty thousand pounds for NHS Charities

By Ian Townsend

Many of our Sussex Isthmian footballers amongst those who have ran and donated

A month or so ago we told you about an initiative set up by Sussex Football Legends Scott Kirkwood and Kevin Keehan- with the aim of raising at least two thousand pounds for the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Charitable Trust. Well they later raised that target to £3000, but are now- a few minutes ago- on a colossal £49,347!

Amongst the runners have been players from all of our local clubs, and you can see them all by following Run5K4NHS on Twitter. And if you haven't yet done a run, you can find out more- and donate- by heading here.

So if you're involved in football in Sussex, dig your trainers out, and hit the pavement- whilst remembering to socially distance yourself from all the other footballers out there who are doing the same!

Where next?

Charity begins at...your local football club: Update 2 Many of our clubs are crowdfunding to help them through the crisis. Here is how you can help.
Geordies to groundshare Don't worry, they're the landlords- they aren't off to Aveley!
